The provided text highlights several new or updated topics across Unit 7 and Unit 8. Which of the following areas represents a specific update or new focus mentioned in the text?

  • A: A revised discussion on the role of phages in animal behavior, introduced with a new figure on frigatebird courtship.
  • B: An in-depth consideration of the role of glia, integrated into the overview of nervous systems, and new sections on plastic waste and global climate change models.
  • C: Emphasis on new evidence regarding the positive impacts of global climate change on crop mineral content and a new figure detailing dinosaur locomotion.
  • D: A comprehensive new section on the history of adaptive immunity, shifting its introduction to an earlier chapter.

Explanation

The text explicitly states in Unit 7 that 'in-depth consideration of glia is now provided in Concept 49.1, where it is more logically integrated into the overview of nervous systems'. In Unit 8, it mentions 'new section of text and two new figures Figure 56.27 and 56.28 on plastic waste' and 'a new section of text in Concept 56.4 describes how global climate change models are developed and why they are valuable'. Option B correctly combines these distinct updates.
